Almost dead connection for the last 2 days

For the last two days, internet seems to be almost dead.

Ping times for 1.1.1.1 are on scale of 3-4 seconds (!) when not timed-out.
Speed is non-existent, had to switch to mobile tethering.

have you tried restarting the modem?
