V.M. HOME INSTALL TODAY

I was surprised to see that V.M. completed a new install in my neighbours flat this morning.

Was this contrary to the present lock down advice?

No. Why?

Check out the layout of the cables and positions of the junctions, make sure that they meet your needs. Also ask the installer if the circuitry needs tuning to optimise the signal.

I note that Plumbers & Electricians, are only working if it is an emergency situation.

Virgin derecognised their unions, CWU and BECTU some time ago so the staff have no representation and this is another example of the lower standards of health and safety that Virgin have when compared to Openreach and SKY engineers for example.

Of course the danger is two way and the Virgin engineers may well be subbies who will not be paid if they go sick and could be putting their customers at risk of infection.

see what happened to me in my post recenntly re tuning the modem with a supplimentary device and checking all the connections.

maybe broadband is considered a necessary service during the lockdown and maybe your neighbours had none?not sure how well you know them but maybe they just decided it would be a good way of keeping in touch with their family? pretty sure if all those complaining about this install and virgins health and safety regime would like their service repairing if it went down!

I got that. I was just confused given the original post was about someone else's connection, not the original poster.

Delighted you're happy with the service you received though the 'tuning of the circuity/modem' was just an in-line attenuator. Nice and easy.
