Superhub 3 - VPN - Killing entire connection

[link to this post]

Hi people (more knowledgeable than me)

I've recently upgraded to 400mbps and swapped hubs from the 2ac to the hub 3. I have run both of these in network only mode with the eero 6 mesh routers. Whilst on the basic 100mbps hub 2ac I had no issues using a VPN and downloading, however, since upgrading to the 400 with the hub 3 I'm getting house wide internet drop outs, not just the local device running the VPN.... Speeds will be full for an intermittent length is time then drop completely float around 50-60kbps and after 5-10 minutes will spike back to full speed and rinse and repeat.

I'm in the process of doing a bqm, however initial data shows minimum latency of around 20ms and average latency of between 120-140ms with packet loss floating around 25% whilst the VPN is active and downloads occuring.

When not using the VPN the connection is stable.

Does anyone have any ideas what is happening and how I can resolve this?

Any help appreciated

Hi...I heard that hub 3 has a bad Intel chipset...check wiki....says it can't deal with certain traffic and gets over loaded causing packet drops etc

I'm having same issues but customer service in denial.

It sounds like the issue that the Hub 3 has with UDP packets in general

Most odd - I've had a Superhub 3 for around 4 years and had no issues with VPN or any UDP issues.
