Based on that image yes they are.

Based on activity near me (Northumberland) there’s 3 types of activity you can see:

Fixing blockages
Installing cabinets and underground chambers
Microtrenching the individual streets to enable access to each property.

I’m not sure on the timescale as our neighbouring town is smaller but was done first yet hasn’t gone live yet. We’re at the early stage of just having the first cabinets installed.

Tried ringing Virgin sales to ask if a rollout was in progress, got a foreign call centre where the guy couldn't understand basic English so I gave up and ended the call.

What’s odd is the roadworks don’t have any detail describing the works.

Does this checker give any info?

It’s different to the normal virgin media checker which only looks at current network.

They certainly are, but not sure why. Jurassic and Openreach have lots of FTTP coverage.

No the Virgin checker doesn't show anything for my postcode.

I'm not seeing anything on the Devon Council roadworks map relating to Virgin in Exmouth.

Jurassic have lots of coverage, BT will have(they've just started) ... but yes, doesn't seem much point in a third provider.

I’m assuming virgin see completion different to broadband only providers. They can use their TV offering to pull customers from alt nets.

I see the Virgin TV offering now requires their broadband. The old TV only boxes seem to have gone, and I wonder if they are heading for the same market as Sky Stream, perhaps using any ISP.

The virgin packages seem super confusing as someone who’s never had a virgin service before.

With TV, Phone, Internet and mobile all bundled together there should be a huge number of combinations but they seem to have preset bundles instead. Then as an existing O2 customer the options change again.

Depending on when they come to my area I may still be in contract with sky, but at least it’s the first genuine option I’ve had for an alternative vs no tv package.
