Gaming issues at around midnight happening more often (DNS?)

[link to this post]

I am noticing that recently Virgin is having internet issues past midnight, I am on Discord playing a game of League or whatever and I disconnect from my game and can no longer speak on discord. My internet seems to work fine for websites like twitch and youtube but I can't connect or play any games for 20-30 minutes till it fixes it self and this has happened a few times over the last month around midnight.

I have a friend online who is also on virgin and lives around 150 miles away from me that is also having the same issues and disconnects with me at the exact same time. I also check twitter and see hundreds of tweets pop up about virgin having issues at this exact same time.

You would never notice this issue if you are not on discord or gaming as my twitch and youtube etc works just fine and it only lasts 20-30 minutes but it can be EXTREMELY frustrating if you are in a game of League or Valorant because those 20-30 minutes mean its game over.

I would also like to add that my desktop PC is configured to Google DNS and this issue still happens. My friend who is 150 miles away is using the default virgin DNS.

I was just browsing and saw this about Virgin Media.. You aren't the only ones and I'm still waiting an answer from them which I know it will never come:

It's madness.. unfortunately there is only VDSL (80/20) or Virgin in my area :/ Toob will be around in the next year or so, can't wait to jump off VM

"unfortunately there is only VDSL (80/20)"

Far better than VM. Jitter and latency are what count.

Ideally would be 1G with low latency, since I have mixed usage for my Internet. Not saying VDSL is bad, but paying £35 p/m for 80/20 feels daylight robbery when I'm paying £28 for a gig..

Introductory offers are usually low.

You can only compare like for like.
