I used online chat last week to obtain my username and password so i could use my own router.
They will only give you the user/pass if you tell them your using a openreach approved router.

I have been trying to buy an approved router on ebay, so far without success. However the recent price increase makes it less likely that I will want to become an Vodafone FTTC customer.

I don't think you have to actually have an approved router to obtain your credentials

I think that you may have to say that you have one.

I saw some Zyxel VMG8924-B10A going quite cheaply a little while ago on ebay, but lately they have been fetching more money.

I have now ordered broadband and obtained my connection userid and password.

When I requested these details, I was asked what router I was going to use as I was told they use different connect details for different routers. Seemed strange to me, but it was easy to tell the truth as I now have a Zyxel VMG8924-B10A.

I have had Vodafone mobile phones for some time and at the moment the price is £25pm. No mention of the price increase so far!

That is what I fear and I might quit if it happens. I did read about someone who was offered some cash back when their price was increased.

Today there is a large advert in the Telegraph say £25pm for 18 months, no need to be an existing mobile customer. I shall point that out if I have to resort to ringing them! I have managed to get them to provide the freebee although I ordered before the advert came out.

Are Vodafone like BT in their price handling of broadband contracts. Looking at or fibre. Choice of TT, Vodafone or, existing ADSL2+ Pulse8 line, for 38Mb upgrade.

What do you mean by that? If you are referring to the £3 price increase AIUI, you can either leave or maybe negotiate some cash back from their cancellations dept - or pay up! I think they can impose a RPI type increase.

Vodafone do have a special offer at the moment as mentioned in the News section of this website. They will now provide connection userid and password so that you can use your own equipment.

Referring to price increase within contract. BT state this in terms.
TT no increase in contract.
