Gigafast - phone service

Just wondering, as and when Gigafast arrives and they provide a phone service with it, would that be VOIP ? FTTP would not normally carry a traditional phone line, so I guess that's why they say they will issue a new number. I'm also guessing that there will be a phone socket on their router, similar to what I had with a BT business line several years ago.
Probably years away yet, just finding out...
