In reply to a post by ffgmat:
http://www.ovh.net/files/ I have max 2MB/s ( should be 12.5MB/s )

http://speedtest.tele2.net -- easy way to test FTP upload/download. Same result for me

The download speed I get from ovh is much slower than this website or speedtest.net would show by a factor of about 5. I doubt the problem has anything to do with Vodafone.

Difference is probably down to the Speedtest.net server being in Milton Keynes i.e. on the local network

We see a mixture of results from people, so yes wider network performance does appear more variable than you would expect

speed test - random servers EU

Amsterdam - 100Mbit up/dow

Paris - 100Mbit/s up/dow

Warsaw - 50Mbit/s100Mbit
http://www.speedtest.net/result/7953890372.png

Berlin - 50/100
http://www.speedtest.net/result/7953895694.png

FTP is still limited to 20Mbit/s I cant understand why?
I done many test and result same, I try some UK FTP servers and always 20Mbit/s (2,2MB/s)

I still have BT line (76Mbit/s download ) and no problem I have full speed on FTP

If testing with Ookla servers abroad you are a long way from testing your Internet connection, but if you do trace routes to all the servers you may find a common route that pops up on the slow servers
