Re: Can you use your own router with Gigafast

On Openreach no VLAN is necessary.

I've no idea where you're ending up using VLAN 911 on Openreach but best gotten rid of.

Shouldn't be using DHCP with PPPoE - worth checking the IPv4 and IPv6 configurations.

Building better networks, not just faster ones.

you sir, are a star! That worked a treat. Every guide I've seen so far states you need to set vlan 911. But apparently not on Openreach.

Thank you very much smile

And this is where all the confusion happens.
No Vlan for openreach provided gigafast, but cityfibre based gigafast will need vlan 911.

Most of the searches at the moment for 'Gigafast' and your own router will be based on cityfibre services as the openreach services are very new option.

How are normal people supposed to figure all this out.

Just now, a year after having Openreach FTTP available and Cityfibre FTTP available at my address it comes up as only ADSL on multiple providers/switch sites etc. Its a good job I know what im doing, I feel sorry for anyone else trying to figure it all out.
