VOIP with Asus Router - engaged tone on outgoing calls

[link to this post]

Hi folks,

As VF have so kindly removed their forum, I'm stuck for support...

I've changed from a RT86U to AXE11000, and have configured everything like for like. The Grandstream connects, and incoming calls work - but outgoing calls always get an engaged tone.

What is more annoying is when I switch back to the RT86U, it no longer works with that too.

Any suggestions most appreciated.

The only thing I recall being changed in the voip setup is the User-Agent. Where it used to be "Vox 3.0", it's now "Vox 3.0v".
That's the only thing I've ever seen change in the 4+ years I've been doing this.

have you set the sip pass through to disabled

go to wan > nat pass through and then change sip pass through to disabled and hit save

@Taras, With it set to "Vox 3.0v" I still get an engaged tone on outgoing calls (at the point it would normally ring)
Incoming calls still work.

@Ripshod, Yes. It's set to disabled. Still doesn't work. SIP Passthrough and PPPoE Relay is disabled. Everything else in the list is enabled.

Hi all, i have vodafone vdsl with daytek router and grandstream 801 for my digital landline. Ripshod kindly helped me on the setup last yeat on the vodafone forum. All has been working fine until last week, now i can only receive calls but no outgoing calls. i get dial tone, dialling number the silence/disconnect after few seconds.Anyone else having problems or have vodafone changed the parameter for their digital service. i have tried the Vox 3.0v but no change.

Merlin 3004.388.9_2_rog

I changed mine to Vox 3.0v but whist incoming calls ring, when you answer you get an engaged tone. Vox 3.0 fixes that.

I'm wondering the same. Used to work fine with old router, but now won't work with that either.
