Configuring my own router on a Vodafone static ip address

[link to this post]

Hi, I hope I have posted this in the right forum?
I have a fibre connection (150mb) with Vodafone, they have just recently provided me with a static IP address, I just wondered what info that I would need from them to set up my own router rather than using their standard THG3000 Router. I assume I need my Username, password, VLAN, static ip adress with subnet mask, do I need the "upstream gateway address"? I assume that is the next hop on from my router in Vodafones network?
Just to clarify I want to replace their router with my own, not use mine alongside theirs.
Thanks in advance
Pete

Just configure your own router in the same way as you would for a normal dynamic IP. The static IP will then be assigned to your router by Vodafone.

Thanks Michael,
So do you mean that all I need to know is my Username, password, VLAN and just enable PPPOE?
I don't need to do any other config, even if I'm not using their router at all, just my own?
Thanks
Pete

You'll need to contact Vodafone's support for your PPPoE username and password. The VLAN details will depend on the network you're using (101 for Openreach, 911 for CityFibre).

You won't need to set any IP settings -- think of the Vodafone static IP as a "reserved dynamic" IP in that it'll be allocated to you and you won't configure it on your end.

VLAN 911 for CityFibre, 101 for Kingston Communications (Hull area).. Openreach doesn't use a VALN.
PPPoE username and password.
Everything else is automatic.
