Silly Question I Think But got to ask

Guys and Gals

I intend to a laptop overseas when i go over there for a few months, gives my job away a bit, However I will have internet access overseas. My question is if i sign up to either skype or Tesco internet phone for example and I want to call my home bt number to speak to my family
A. Will i be able to ?
B. And will it only cost the price of a call to the UK ie on the tesco internet phone site it quotes call uk land lines for 2p
I am a little confused and no one seems to give a straight answer, they just keep point to the call charges on the internet

the charges (or otherwise) on VoIP don't depend where you are in the world, so you pay the same rate when you arrive at the other end as when you are here.

The "will you be able to" depends if there are any restrictions on the far end, or if its a satellite internet link. In principle if you have an unrestricted connection to the internet it'll work, unless its over satellite where it may not due to latency issues.

Register with a proper voip provider in this country and get a uk geographical number then your family can also call you at normal UK rates.
Sipgate gives a free geographical number or voiphone charges at �1.99p a month. Voiphone is the better one though (IMHO)
