VOIP and Fax

[link to this post]

I need some help.
I'm looking for a way to use fax on VOIP.
This is using a BT-Fusion package on a 2wire gateway BT 2700hgv, with a Brother Fax-2920 fax machine.
I can send out faxes just fine, but incoming faxes are being received with a "Call diverted" message.
Anyone any ideas? Thanks.

I should ask your VoIP service provider why they are detecting and diverting fax calls (where do they divert them to ?). I suspect they will say that fax is not supported in which case you'll have to look for a provider that does support it.

Thanks for the reply.

Got it working eventually.
Firstly had to change the Fax into 'compatibility' mode, which meant that its baud rate went down to 9600bps and error checking was turned off.
Secondly, the fax was set to manual answering , which is why it was diverting. Own mistake lol.
