Vodafone Sure Signal QoS

Hi,

Has anyone managed to use QoS on their local router to improve Sure Signal voice quality? I'm connected on ADSL2+ at about 14Mbps down, 600Kbps up and Sure Signal connects OK, but call quality on the uplink (I.e. my voice) is very poor. I was planning to buy a new router with some QoS controls, but don't want to waste my money if VF has contention problems at their end.

I would do a test with everything else off first, the bandwidth used isn't huge and I hadn't noticed any issues. It could also be your ISP or exchange level congestion which router QoS wouldn't address.

I have one up in Scotland and we only have ADSL Max with 7.xx Mbps down and around 380 kbps up. Have not noticed any issues with it, call quality in both directions is fine - quite often there will be two calls in progress and was tested with four at once on installation.
