VoIP adaptor for analogue phones... plus PSTN in/out?

Hi everyone

I've setup VoIP deployments at a few small sites over the years, usually Asterisk+FreePBX in a VPS. Works really well for distributed teams. My go-to SIP trunk provider has always been voipfone.co.uk, often with Gradwell as a backup route.

But now there's a relative who is moving house and wants to keep their long-standing BT geographical number. Port it to voipfone, easy!

But I'm not clued in on the home/SOHO analogue VoIP adaptors available on the market. I've only ever used full SIP phones or PCI analogue adaptors (some years ago).

I'm looking for something that will allow me to connect their existing BT DECT handsets to receive incoming VoIP calls from their old number, ported to voipfone. Easy.
But are there any that will also allow me to connect their new BT landline?
So their existing DECT handsets can make/receive landline and VoIP calls?
Would be awesome if it can do least-cost-routing as well.

Obviously I could deploy a small Asterisk+FreePBX box for this but I'm not too keen on supporting that within my existing "family IT support contract" framework

Any suggestions?

Two I know of:

CISCO: SPA232D may need a Cisco handset

Gigaset: N300A IP

the early bt home hubs did this for bt-talk, they even had the dect stuff built in

Is changing part of, or all, the DECT system an option? The Gigaset N300IP basestation support both POTS and VOIP services. Far superior to an ATA in my experience.

As I suggested earlier. http://forums.thinkbroadband.com/voip/t/4376274-re-v... It may also be possible to use the existing DECT handsets to a certain degree with the N300IP - a lot of BT handsets were actually Siemens/Gigaset.

We sell a lot of the Cisco SPA112.

It's a well priced unit and reliable - should work a treat.

Except being picky doesn't that lack the option to make calls over your landline which I think is what he was asking for? You need one with an fxo port for that I think.

The obi-110 does sound like the safe option at the moment. They have a forum that's meant to help people get their dialing rules set up correctly for which ones go via voip and which ones go normally over the phone. No that I have any experience but I'm thinking of the same thing. Its just a shame that it jumped 50% in price all of a sudden to £44.

The market does seem oddly quieter these days. Perhaps everyone is just using their free mobile phone allowances now...

Correct, as suggested below the SPA232 is the one with the additional fixed line capability
