Porting from TalkTalk

[link to this post]

OK so we have a phone and broadband service from TalkTalk Business. Quite happy with the service but wish to port the number the service runs on over to VoIP. Obviously some magic needs to happen to keep the broadband service going and to effectively acquire a new number for the telephone service. Idiots guide of how to achieve this objective welcomed.

BT killed my phone line account when I ported the number to VOIP. There still was a dial tone on the line.

I suggest that you ask Talktalk Business what will happen in your case. If they say the broadband will still work, I would ask for that in writing in case it proves not to be the case!

Hi,

I have done the same for a customer.
They had to order a second line and wait for that to be installed.
Once the new line was in and working we ported the number and it ceased the line and the broadband.

Thanks
Dan

I have a chapter and verse email stating what will happen and that the downtime of the broadband is how quickly I change the logon credentials once the number is ported over.
