Sipgate "Starter account"

[link to this post]

Tried to join Sipgate starter account. Got their (via post) Start Code and on using it, was surprised to see that I have been allocated a Business S Account.

So, have they got rid of "residential" type starter accounts? This S account is £9.95 per month!

I think it is time to look for an alternative - recommendations please?

It is true that Sipgate Starter is no longer available to new customers and Sipgate plan to move existing customers to Sipgate Business in 2023. - (As per an email reply that I received from Sipgate when I asked them about this. - In their email reply Sipgate said that existing customers will be notified before they are changed to business accounts so that they have a chance to move elsewhere).

Sipgate had previously planned to do this in 2014 and in 2014 they changed their minds so there is a remote chance that it will not happen this time. - Personally, I don't like the uncertainty and have already openned a Voipify Account.

Regarding alternatives to Sipgate: there is already a thread on this;

I have also learnt that they are hoping to have some good offers for existing UK customers if they switch to a business package although what they might be will determine who decides to stay and who goes elsewhere.
