VoIPFone Settings

[link to this post]

Good Evening,

I was wondering if anyone can help me set up Cisco SPA508G with VoIPFone?

I have it successfully set up with SipGate on Line 1, but I cannot get the settings sorted for VoIPFone.

VF have offered to help but it needs to be between 9am and 5pm Mon-Fri which is when I am working.

Any help would be appreciated.

CJT.

No they reactivated the account, and there is still money on there, so I may as well use it up.

However I can't use the money atm as I can't make/receive any calls.

Do you have it working with a softphone client?

Just use one for basic account connectivity and testing. Often way faster and easier to troubleshoot than using an ATA / hardware.

I tried to set up Zoiper but that didn't work, so now I have downloaded Voipfone's on Softphone and I have logged in, but it says it's not registered.

I'm using Voipfone with their Softphone too. No recent problems.
I do remember at first it seemed to unregister itself a lot. When you open the App, there's a small button in the very top left hand 'Voipfone'. This should display in green. You can click on that and it opens a small Account Detail window. That will show whether you're registered or not. If not, from memory I think it allows you at that point to click on Register. Normally that fixes it.
Alternatively, switch off then on again the phone and that will probably kick it in.

I'm using this one with one of their £1.80 a month accounts. I find it very handy for making international calls while out & about.

Also previously I was using Zoiper but had too many issues with it.

Hi clyde123

Thanks for getting back to me, despite my best efforts I still cannot get the app or the SIP phone to work.

I have contacted VoipFone for further assistance.

One quick call to VoipFone and it's all resolved.

Was (just) a password issue!
