Youfibre phone not working

[link to this post]

Hi

Just had youfibre FTTP installed, but it seems that my Phone (Youphone) is not working.

The RJ11 telephone connector plugs into the supplied adapter which then plugs into the youfibre router. The dect phone just says 'check phone line'. The led for the phone on the front of the router is not lit up.

The phone is a Panasonic KX-TGC224EB which I assume should work ok.

Any ideas before I contact youfibre support ?

Thanks

You have answered your own question …

The led for the phone on the front of the router is not lit up.

This is without a doubt an issue with the remote set up. The sooner you speak to YouFibre, the sooner they can rectify their issue.

Received a letter just the other day ..

We had a similar problem when we switched to FTTP with Vodafone.
Despite me telling her the Phone LED wasn't lit, the CS agent told us it was because we weren't using their adaptor - BT phone plug to RJ11 with ring capacitor. In the end it turned out that a firmware update was required to the router.
Most modern phones should work using RJ11 - RJ11 lead. Ours was an older Panasonic Dect.

Thanks for the replies.

Rang Youfibre support who were fairly helpful. So they have half fixed the problem. I can now make calls from the landline, but it won't accept incoming calls. I just get 'This number is temp unavailable'. Not that impressed with this so far.

OK, so this is, again, just the supplier not doing the remote build on the circuit.
