CAcert is worth looking at - at least it is free!

but totally useless since 95% of the browser market (AKA IE) does not have it, so you will still get the stupid warning popup message.

I thought that IE now had CAcert as a trusted certificate - maybe I was mistaken

do you really think m$ would add it? they probably make money off of thawte etc.
and no they havent
