Need something like wiki but different

[link to this post]

I have a wiki at the moment, which I use to note down ideas for projects. This is separate to my main site, as the main site is designed to host mostly finalized content (to give a more professional look to what might be the most messiest design of software in the world.)

I like the idea of wikis, but don't want people coming along and modifying my project ideas. I would, however, love people to be able to post comments and ideas which I can then incorporate into the project page later.

Ideally, something like a blog, but organised and presented like a wiki. Not like a forum (I tend to find my ideas spread out all over the place if I do that.)

Best way to describe it would be some kind of notepad or journal which people can view and comment on.

I don't want to have to hand-edit HTML or break out a web page editor just to make modifications, but on the same token don't want a full-blown CMS.

Any suggestions?

Blog is more article + comment based so I'm not absolutely sure if it's ideal.. it depends if you want to edit things a lot or just post new ones or new revisions... it might work..

I'm not sure if most wiki software have enough control to allow you to permission control of sections on a page.. you may be able to set up separate pages and have comment pages ones people can edit.. but it still allows cross editing possibly..

Just checked and apparently MediaWiki has a 'talk' tab which wikipedia uses which may meet your needs.

Why not just have a wiki and lock people who are not you to edit the talk pages only?
