Hosting for beginners

[link to this post]

I'm looking to buy a domain name and a hosting package for my Dad as a birthday present.

He's completely new to this, so needs a service that will easily allow him build a simple website using some sort of design wizard, and to publish photo albums.

It all needs to be as straightforward and as jargon-free as possible.

I'm looking at 1&1's "Home" package that looks to possibly fit the bill at about a fiver a month, but I'm not sure how suitable it is for an absolute beginner.

Has anyone come across any suitable services?

You might be better with something like nethosted which will allow you to install a content manager and photo album from their control panel
