Pop-Up Windows in IE 8

Can anyone tell me how to force IE8 to open a pop-up as a pop-up rather than a new tab? At the moment I'm using js like:

window.open('TreePopUp.php', 'Henry', 'width=400,height=200,scrollbars=yes');

and it will only open a new tab, which is not what I want. I want it to do what Firefox does, which is to open a pop-up window on top of the current tab..

You can change the settings in IE7 to open in new window/new tab. Isn't IE8 the same?

Or are we talking about forcing others' browsers to open a sepcific Internet link to open as a new window?

target="_?????" Where ????? can be blank / parent / self / top. One of those ought to work, but it's not really 'nice' coding these days.

I'm trying to make it open a small window on top of the current window, not another full browser window. FF does it OK but IE8 won't. Probably won't matter because the customer is still on untabbed IE6

Thanks for that. The code there is pretty much what I'm using now and doesn't work in IE8. Have found some nifty (unfortunately not free) software that does the job.
