Local Host Image Display IE7

[link to this post]

Hi

Have developed an issue with IE7 recently, where a percentage of images will not display in IE7 (with XP) when working on sites off line. This particularly applies to images that have been edited in almost any way. The image will be displaying fine, make a few changes and all that shows is the mini three symbol box.

Not a definable fault as such, put the images on a server and IE7 will display them. Have found many others with the same problem but nobody with a solution. Tried the obvious, clearing temp files, cookies etc, then resetting the browser to default, then stripping out and replacing.

Wondered if anyone had come across this and found a solution. Appreciate I could just use another browser locally but there are accessibility reasons for sticking with IE7 and would like to solve the issue anyway if possible.

Finally found a solution, having emailed a local business/web support unit. They were also surprised to see how little information was around on this, so with a little nudging, agreed to post an answer for people on a web help section they were putting up.

For anyone interested, this can be seen at Local Image Display in IE Hope this helps out others and can testify the tag works, no more image problemssmile
