Hi, I've read the Google blurb and now hope for some decent unbiased info.

What can you really do with it and is it actually any good?

Tbh, its only worth doing if your hosting provider doesn't provide website stats and you heavily use gogole's adsense/adwords systems.

My take on it is that it can slow down a page loading and only shows http traffic etc ..

We use it on our educational toy store and really like the statistics we can get.

I used to produce my own stats from the web logs but this was time consuming and fairly static. You get a full reporting solution with Analytics all accessible from a nice portal. Comparisons and trends over time are all available. You can track purchases against search terms, adwords, sources of traffic etc.

It certainly provides everything we need for traffic reporting.

It is pure evil.
