Hosting recommendation

Two friends want websites setting up for their buisnesses, nothing overly demanding (least not at the outset), unfortuantly the host I use isn't taking new signups and so don't know who to recommend that they use.

Requirements:
SQL-Lite 2 or 3, php5.2+, mysql databases (least 2), email service (either forward to another address or 'full'), bandwidth/diskspace not too vital at moment but want a service which can grow as their needs change and adapt.

Planning in the inital outset to use lightneasy as the cms - its reasonably light and simple php system so doesn't need much to start with.

I would give serious consideration to Nethosted. Head over to their forums to see many satisfied customers! There is also a Pre-sales forum where you can ask for supported products levels. PHP is at 5.2.9 and MySQL is 5.0.90-community.

Even though they don't have telephone support, tickets (or forum questions) are answered within an hour - 24x7 (and sometimes within minutes), and they work to clear any problem - even to helping with coding problems.

I have had a reseller account with them for a couple of years now, although I only have a dozen domains, and I am delighted with the service I have had from them.

I use Nethosted and whilst I don't properly use the Hosting side of my account at the moment,

they have been excellent in providing help and suggestions during my time there, so much so
I stayed with them.. they also do a TBB offer

Another vote for nethosted. I've been with them just over five years now. You may find cheaper, but you'll have to look hard to find better value.

I would recommend www.tsohost.co.uk which offers everything you want. Their service and support has been absolutely first rate and the pricing is very competitive.

Have been with them for may years and am very happy with them. Very responsive and helpful, even out-of-hours. When I last looked their packages offered slightly better value than Nethosted, but suggest you check for yourself.

Never been able to beat www.dream-hosting.co.uk
