Try to avoid going with the same host for the domain and hosting as a general rule

Why?

Just curious.

It's a case of not having all your eggs in one basket. If your host goes out of business or you get into a contract dispute it might become difficult to move your hosting to another provider. If however, you use a different company as registrar you can simply switch your hosting to another company and carry on as normal while you sort out the dispute.

Fair enough.
