Email Hosting.......Recommendations Please

I'm currently paying £30/year for hosting (Xilo). It comes with 1GB of webspace which I don't really need. I've seen cheaper options from 1&1 and Fasthosts for just email hosting. However their online reviews look terrible.

123 Reg offer a cheaper package, but it only has 1 mailbox and I need at least two so that's not really an option either.

Any recommendations for something cheaper but reliable, or is it just a case of you get what you pay for? I need pop3 access and preferably smtp server access.

I have been using APM Internet (Very Good Email Co.) since 2006 - absolutely excellent. I am paying ca. £16 p.a. for 3 mailboxes.
