Does anyone know a good piece of software to build web sites which is powerful but also easy to use for the beginners, I used to know one years ago that I used to use but cant think of it?.

If it was desktop based it may have been Microsoft Frontpage - if it was then it was discontinued some time back. Don't have personal experience of any desktop based simple solution but as the other poster says wordpress is all the rage these days for an online content management system.

There is/was a free copy (legit) of Microsoft Expression Web 4 available, the successor to FrontPage IIRC.

Yep! I d/l it ages ago and did not know if it was still available.

I managed to get hold of frontpage but will give this a try too.
