Regulation of Hosting Companies

[link to this post]
Anyone able to recommend a reputable, established hosting (as opposed to just an ISP) company which is a member of a regulatory body?
Having problems with Fasthosts removing features of our webhosting mid-contract after taking a years payment, and then having the nerve to say "we are not regulated we are private company"!!

I am not sure if there is a regulatory body for hosting companies. As far as I know there isn't one so you will always be dealing with the supplier for complaints.

Were the features removed by Fasthosts a listed component of the service? If so then your contract with them should cover that and you could follow standard contractual processes to complain and potentially take them to court over a failure to deliver services as specified in your contract with them. If it was a substantive part of the contract then at the least they should refund the rest of your contract and let you migrate to a new host.
