SSL on home server….finally set up

[link to this post]

I’ve had my own domain for years now, but only ever used it for emails (thanks to free Google Workspace wink )

I’ve finally got around to properly using it for web hosting.
My domain provider (DreamHost) has an API for DNS updates, so my router’s dynamic dns settings (OpenWRT) were updated to use their API.

Then I have a Raspberry Pi Zero running Apache, on which I made use of LetsEncrypt’s free SSL setup. Enabled a new port forward on 443 and 30 mins later it’s all up and running.

I love technology when it works!

It is nice.

I have been using my own PC to host a domain, In a VM mind as well as some game servers. Works a treat.
