TsoHost/Go Daddy dissatisfaction

[link to this post]

I'm becoming worried and unhappy about TsoHost since the takeover by GoDaddy. (Incidentally I've just read this thread about their Grid host offering but all my stuff with them is still on cPanel).

First the prices seem to be going up to more like GoDaddy ones, and also all prices are now ex-vat which is confusingly contrary to UK consumer norms.

Second and very importantly, I am now receiving considerable spam to the unique email address that is my sign-on to them. At first I suspected their database had been hacked, but now believe it is GoDaddy's policy. There is the possibility that I have been hacked but then I would be being deluged with spam from all my contacts, and I'm not. Nor do I receive spam from my 1 & 1 logon address.

Is anyone else experiencing spam from Tsohost? I only see an occasional one getting through my Thunderbird spam filter, and until I checked just now didn't realise how much there is from them. (Perhaps unwisely I have TB marking everything sent there as read).

I do have some domains and a website on 1 & 1 in the UK, (now owned by United Internet AG, own 1 & 1, IONOS and other providers in Germany). Currently with a very useful very cheap (legacy) unlimited data package! I wonder how long it will be before that gets terminated or limited LOL.

I might transfer my Tso-hosted stuff to 1 &1, or maybe some/all to HostXNow mentioned in the linked thread which I shall look at later.

I don't know about spam, but I've been helping with a Tsohost hosted website which is performing slowly, and support staff downgraded PHP from 8.0 to 7.4 in an attempt to solve it.

Aside from the fact that PHP 8.0 is faster than 7.4, PHP 7.4 isn't even supported anymore!

I had been happy with TsoHost but found that they were going off the boil.

Last year looking for a low cost email supplier to replace a free one, I came across Eco Hosting and found them OK. (This was not for me, but a local society) Fast forward to this year and decided to move my webhosting from TsoHost to Eco Hosting. Very pleased with the result and much cheaper too. When I have requested assistance, they are fast. Well worth a look at https://www.ecohosting.co.uk/

Cheers!
