Looking for isp (unlimited, no traffic shaping, p2

(unlimited, no traffic shaping, p2p blocking etc)

I have recently discovered a major problem with pipex, they are throttling the p2p services it seems on my connection (bittorrent). I have enabled encryption, but the speeds are still half of what they should be.

Anyway I am looking for a new isp, that does none of this p2p shaping, and also has an unlimited monthly usage (any time of the day). I am paying about

Some one is posting in ISP Unhappiness about receiving slow speeds and warning letters from Demon

To be honest unlimited as in if you have a 2Mbps connection and want to push 200GB+ a month doesn't exist. Some smaller providers try it for a while then often hit trouble 2 or 3 months later.

Solution - pay more or use less

Easynet have unbundled the Eastbourne exchange, so UK Online would suit you - unlimited, no throttling or traffic shaping. 1meg @

Thanks for your reply, I was considering sky, but I am not sure if they made it avaliable yet. I kept getting emails saying it would be here.... but I will have to check it. Any news on if they shape, or any negatives to it?

I will take a look at the UK Online one too.

Cheers

Had a look, and I can get both. The sky I can get the unlimited package now, couldnt before. And I can get the uk online one, 8mb it reckons for 25

You can join many UNLIMITED isp's these days, but none of them are. The fact is every single one of them selling "unlimited" are lying to get customers onboard but in reality are not going to supply you with what they are selling.

Its high time OFCOM put its money where its mouth was and fined these ISP's millions of pounds for miss-selling narrowband as broadband.

Let me know if you do find one.

(not one selling unlimited then having a "fair usage policy" in place going completely against the unlimited package they are selling)

Thats a bad idea, a chap who downloaded 120gb one month has now been throttled to dialup speeds without warning. I'd not touch a company what did that with a 10ft barge pole.
