IDNet's pings have been patchy of late for some customers, so if he's unlucky he won't get the 15-20ms that he needs.

Finally free of the nightmare of CPBB -> Fast24 -> Tiscali

LOL, Eclipse does indeed offer many shaping rides - best is the traffic shaping roller coaster of 20k/sec during the evenings...

Now, I wouldnt mind if I abused the bandwidth, but I'm not even a heavy user. It seems all are punished!

Pings used to be good in CS....they are slipping though........

In reply to:

Reading the forums here it seems that not one single ISP in the UK can deliver a service worth having... I've looked and looked and looked and yet the more I dig, the more my head opens up and deposits my brains on the wall in confusion.

Welcome to the UK's joke "Broad" band mate! Trust me you are not alone. Absolutely pathetic isn't it!

saw an advert for virgin bb, unlimited downloads, ie u can download again and again, but a fup applies, so it is not unlimited

excaped from eclipse, is is defintaly not the dogs gonads, more like the dogs breakfast, 250-500 kbps over most weekends

look at enta net reseller perhaps, or one of the smaller isp's on the quieter forums

enta traffic shape too now............albeit in a differing way, but still due to not investing in bandwidth quick enough........

Wouldn't consider Virgin at the moment, they used to be OK by serious contention issues for past few months, mine varies from 2.3Mb to 19kb.
About 175kb at the moment, 88kb a while ago!

There are some decent ISP's in the UK, despite what the doomongers like Buggerlugz might say.

If you can get LLU then go for be*.

Up to 24 Meg Unlimited and unshaped for
