ISP Request - Newsgroup User

[link to this post]

Hi all,

Just had my second letter from Pipex saying about my bandwidth and suchlike - bit funny as I had stopped it getting stuff from between 6pm and midnight but there you go. Must had mucked up the peak hours they offer.

Anyway, I do get a lot in on the newsgroups, so I was after an ISP that be good to use - I did think of moving to Tourcan but have heard bad things about them. Was now thinking of moving to ADSL24 and their Home 2000.

Does anybody have any reports on them. Any help would be great.

Sorry to have bothered you.

Thanks

Borusa

ADSL24 along with all other Enta basic resellers have newsgroup access but txt only, no binaries.

Of course the newsgroup ports are not blocked, and there are a number of rather good third party news service providers out there.

Yes, I use Newsleecher to get the stuff in and am connected to Giganews and Newshosting. It's just that I don't like paying about

There are some cheap unlimited access US newsgroups available. If you went for soemthing like 30GB peak and 300GB off peak with that you'd still be paying less than

ZeN 2000 [July 2005 - Ongoing]
PIPEX Solo 1000 [May 2005 - July 2005]
Bulldog Communications [April 2004 - May 2005]
BTopenworld Dialup

So would you say that if I move to adsl24 and still use newsleecher for the binaries that would be ok?
