Want to chane ISP after lat 3 weeks with BT!

[link to this post]

Hi,

At the moment I'm with BT and pay for an 8Mb line, at the most I get 3mb, but I do live about 2/3 miles from the exchange so I'm not too bothered. However, over the last 3 weeks my internet has been disconnected 95% of the time and when it has connected, it has continuously dropped out.

I'm pretty good with computers and networking, so at first I tried everything I could think of from changing routers, swapping microfilters, trying different telephone pointas and so on.

However, the problem persisted so I finally rang up BT. I was run through everything which it could be, hoever, I'd already tried most suggestions. In total I have made aroung 9 calls all lasting roughlt 55minutes, and everytime I get the same response 'theres a fault in the line, the line faults department will contact you', and when they finally do contact me I'm told there isn't a fault in the line.

I do know that if there is a fault in the line, changing ISP won't let me connect to the internet, however, I am fed up with BT's awful customer service and want someone more efficient to deal with it.

As for ISP's, I'm thinking about Zen. I'm willing to pay up to aroung

Have a look at the Entanet Resellers, eg UKFSN
Best to look further back on this forum, plus check out the ISP forum for Entanet here on TBB to get an view of some of the pros and cons.
Perhaps someone whose ISP is one of the Entanet Resellers will post you a reply regarding your useage demands.

In terms of tech support, Zen is the best there is afaik - if theres a fault they'll get it fixed... however enta may be better in terms of consistant speed/ping
