Hi,
I posted on here about a week ago how my BT line was faulty and BT customer service had been mucking me about. Well finally they mended by line and surprisinly my downloads have improved from around 220 kbs to 470 kbs which is pleasing. However, what ruins this is the fact that if I use torrents or p2p after about 5 minutes at this speed my connection is suddenly limited to around 25kbs, which is useless. Yet when I visist a speedtester, it returns information of a speed about 3.8Mbps.
In the past I turned encryption on in my torent program (Azureus) and it solved the problem and my downloads returned to full speed. However, I have this method no longer seems to work. and I'm not even getting a tenth of the speed I'm paying for. Are there any other methods to get around this restriction on my download speeds?
I've heard good things about Entanet, especially UKFSN and high speed downloads. I'm so closeto switching, but need some reassurance. Firstly, who do I ring at BT to get the MAC authorization code to change, and secondly, am I likely to get the at least a 3.8MBps connection or faster, that will not be completely throttled?
Thanks for any help.
