leaving aol need new isp

i am leaving aol after many years had platinum upto 8mb but router broke their staff said go to the silver up to 2mb and then back up to platinum wont let me do this know download speeds are useless now and capped on usage which includes browsing i need an isp that does not cap you for just browsing as i teach at home and am disabled so use the net for everything been looking at bt or virgin anyone who can give some helpful hints please thanks smartie

Hi, most [if not all, apart from some business packages] ISP's will cap or have in place a fair use policy [FUP]; having said that, I spend several hours a day on the net browsing and listening to music and I rarely use more than 5Gb per month, so unlimited I would say it not really an issue for you.

In your shoes I would go for reliability; connection quality and solid tech support, and for that I personally would consider NewNet or some of the Enta resellers - both have very good reputations and great support on all fronts.

Use Compare to help you make a choice. The good news is that you are in the right place to find the appropriate ISP

Check IDNet. Very solid and reliable ISP with a well thought out package set. All suuport is free and UK based. Well respected and thought of by many, check out the forums her on Thinlbroadband and their own Idnetters ( www.idnetters.idnet.co.uk )
