Suggestions for an ISP to provide ADSL but not MAX, reliable connection etc etc

Try IDnet Very relaible and they do 1-2MB and ADSLMAx.

I think a lot of the better ISP's will give you this option, but you will have to specify it - NewNet, Names, IDNet, Zen and Madasafish all spring to mind - if I'm incorrect I'm sure shortly another user will help us out.
