[link to this post]

Hi,
I am a student just moving into my new house, and i am currently looking for the cheapest broadband going, with no more than a year contract.
With a free wireless router would be handy too.
many thanks

Use this to see who has unbundled your exchange as your cheapest option isn't likely to be via BT.

Depends what you are going to use it for. Just you doing emails and browsing would be a different answer to several of you going on YouTube and similar and downloading tons of music and films.

Give us some idea then we can help. An idea of budget for you or each helps too.

Yeah thats a good price,
I was also looking at tiscali 14.99 with line rental included,
Thing is at the moment we don't have an active line into the house,
does anyone no how much it will cost to activate a line from BT long enough for tiscali to take over... and is there a BT contract that i'm not going to be able to cancel ....i.e pay for 2 lots of line rental.or massive cancellation fee
many thanks

Tiscali should be able to get the line provided by BT Openreach without you ever going near BT Retail.

But have a read of the Tiscali forum here and have a look through ISP unhappiness, and maybe General Broadband Chatter.
