If any one ask me to recommend and ISp, I tell them what I am on, tell them the in's and outs, including the ALT on Entanet. amd then let them decide.

The best thing is to have a look at the ISp home page, see what they offer for the price, then have a look at the forums here. TBH, I think this forum is a waste of time, different people have different needs and if they are on the internet anyway, which they would be to use these forums, then why don't they just have a look around and do their own research, just like I do?

What was off topic? Except the topic in itself is "off" in that the opening post appears to be a thinly veiled personal attack on someone, with no useful purpose.

Or were you just upset because someone complained about having to work out what your earlier post meant, as it wasn't written in English?

I think you are a little unfair there.

Many people may be using the internet, maybe on dial-up, maybe on broadband where they feel something is not right. So they come here for advice.

They are very often clueless, (not a criticism - we are all clueless about something), about how any of the internet works. Recently I have seen two who think the only ISPs available to them are the ones listed by samknows for their exchange - a little knowledge etc. So they need help.

They often do not have a lot of time - the internet isn't a big part of their life. They just want a few people's views on their particular requirements.

Surely asking in this forum is part of the research, and an obvious place to post. Not many people have the time to read all the other forums in depth, over a period of time, and so arrive at a balanced judgement.

And most importantly, I am clueless about where you do your research. The only things I know of other than ISP web sites and adverts are sites like this with the ISP lists and search, Compare page etc., and forums. The only objective thing there is the list. Compare is a summary of opinions concisely presented, and these opinions include positives. The forums are mainly complaints - by their very nature.

the off topic post was not a reply about some people who are paid to post advice about isps instead itsa tease on my speeling which is appropriate in playground or free chat and off topic here in a sensible discussion
