MAC in hand, I am searching for a quality ISP (circa 10Gb d/l, non-LLU, 6.5Mbps line profile). Fast.co.uk do not have a forum on here and search reveals little. Would appreciate any opinions on pros and cons. Thx, Dave.

Don't know about fast.co.uk but for 10GB Newnet Home M has to be worth a look, 12GB for 18 a month.

Steve

It would be wise to actually check what ADSL services you can get first before parting with any cash.
LLU providers such as Sky and Be will give you the best speeds, biggest caps or no caps at all - no throttling - and at the lowest cost.
Use the link I have put below and it will tell you exactly what ADSL services you can get by just putting in your post code or phone number (i.e. it may say "Sky LLU" or "Be LLU" - that means you can use Sky or Be and they are an LLU service).

Thx Tony.
I have no LLU available here in rural Perthshire. So it has to be BT wholesale. On the mass provider side I only have Sky with a half decent reputation via Connect, but with a 12mo contract and poor recommendations I started looking at Enta, Fast, IDnet and Newnet. Fast have a very low profile so I was looking for a heads up.

IDNET are an excellent provider, although a bit more expensive then the rest. 1 month contract, free migration and fixed ip as standard. Well worth a look at.

This any use?
So fast it nearly went off the page! Nearly all the top 10 are actually Entanet resellers so not surprising they are together. IDnet right in there, and Newnet next, and cheapest for 12GB. Much cheaper than Fast 15GB, slightly cheaper than Entanet 30 + 300 and without the ALT.

Not cheap but you will get an unprecedented level of support. I joined them about a year ago having left Poopex and the cs is stunning. Bear in mind that it is a smaller isp.
The other isp recommendation that I would make is Newnet. I subscribed one of my relatives on to their service and they are very pleased with it, as am I since I am the one that fixes any problem that surface.
Good Luck

FWIW have a look here for some reviews.

My mum is with them and has no trouble -- and yes, she does do a lot of downloading (mainly Japanese TV shows that will never be released over here)
She was originally with Biscit, who folded, and she'd actually given her MAC to Virgin ADSL before I screamed and told her not to go with them! Fast.co.uk were actually so helpful that one of them called up Virgin and told them he was her husband, and to give the MAC back

I switched from AOL to Fast 3 weeks ago and its like having a brand new internet. Really impressed with speeds. Always downloads at maximum speed peak or off-peak. Totally satisfied.
