charges involved when switching to/from LLU

[link to this post]

Hello, I am thinking of switching my current broadband privoder and to try LLU and would like to know what sort of charges it may involve to switch to LLU and later on to switch out of LLU back to traditional ADSL.

Appreciate for your help. thanks.

You need to say whether it is full LLU or shared LLU.

Switching to shared LLU (the more common one) is easy, just a migration, set-up costs depend on ISP.

Leaving shared LLU and going back to IPStream/Datastream you use a MAC and may involve the new ISP charging you for an activation (wholesale price 40+VAT), depends on what offers are going on at the time

thank you for your information.

yes, I was thinking of shared LLU, just the broadband. Continue to use a separate phone line.

If you are going with Sky LLU - you can actually be billed for your phone line via Sky, and at a lower cost than BT charges (Sky LLU is shared LLU and it it is still a BT line - but you just get billed for it via Sky for less cash than BT charge direct).

If you are still a Sky customer on TV then set up charge varies depending on which broadband option you take. Base is 60 - Mid or Connect is 30 - Max is 0.

Sky supply a free router BTW and also do free phone calls deals.
