Sky vs O2/Be for broadband

hi

I am due to move into new house in a few weeks.

It has a number of dsl ISPs available.

The house is already wired up to the hilt with Sky (from current owners).

I have narrowed the choice down to Be, O2 and Sky.

I know Be is supposed to be pretty good, but I think O2 (who own Be) are also supposed to be OK - and I get a reduction as I have O2 mobile contract.

Now my obvious temptation is to use Sky, as I can utilise the connections already in place. And get optional access to HD TV, which I've never had before (coming from Freeview).

What are Sky like (connection speed reliability, customer support, overall VFM etc.), compared to the other two ?

I'm unlikely to download more than a gig or 2 per month - but might like the flexibility to increase this at some point.

Regarding TV however, I'm used to Freeview and am not desperate to get 5 zillion channels of [censored]. I would probably not get much above the basic TV package, at least to start with.

Personally I have found Sky on LLU to be excellent. Best ISP I have ever had. Customer support is genuine 24/7 with a real live people every hour of the day and night - the connection is fastest I have had and reliable.

I also took Sky's free phone calls deal plus Sky also bill me my phone line rental now - at a cheaper price than BT charge (even though it is still a BT line).

If you're not bothered about Sky TV go with Be/O2. The minimum subscription for Sky TV is �15 a month so you would have to pay at least that to get Sky broadband, and for only 1 or 2GB a month there are better deals on offer.

Tony did you conveniently forget to tell the OP where the customer service center is for SKY customers ?
Might i also add another ISP which is also part of SKY group to your list if you are not hot on there satalite TV package, it could work out cheaper for you and , and unlimited downloads with a FUP that they don't as of yet in force, and UK customer support, just check out UKonline..
But being totally honest it will be hard to beat O2 ...

I should add i dont know where O2 customers service center is but sure i have seen its also not UK call center

It isn't all based in Scotland though, is it?

Well yes if its a UK call center you should say, as meny do not use UK call centers.. is BE call center also in UK?

Hmm ... looks like I'm swinging back towards O2 again

Incidently, if there is no Sky dish on this house, does this mean that the TV is coming through roof aerial ?!

I thought all Sky TV came via dish ....
