does Tiscali throttle p2p on its LLU network?

[link to this post]

I've been with Nildram for quite a few years now with good performance from MaxADSL.

I have now noticed that my router synch has changed and queried this on the General chatter forum where it's been suggested that I've been put on Tiscali LLU network as my synch speed has changed from 7616/448 to 8160/576. I rechecked again this morning ang it's now changed again to 8160/672.

My speed seems fine according to the Speedtest.net test ( latest test this morning http://www.speedtest.net/result/252440541.png ) but my experience with Skype has gone pear shaped.

With my "old" Nildram MaxADSL connection I usually send out video at 640x480 at between 20-30fps but over the last couple of days my frame rate has dropped to <10fps and resolution down to 340x280 and on one occassion lower than that. The number of Skype users online at those times was normal around 7 million.

Is this behaviour most likely to be due to traffic shaping on my ISP side and if so, does anyone think a switch to Be would be beneficial? Anyone know if Be would accept a MAC from another LLU operator?

Additionally, although I'm not a gamer, could anyone tell me if my present ping of 35ms good or poor?

Thanks

You may have been put on Datastream
The main problem that you will face is tiscali, the restriction with Skype will just be the start

tiscali are not to be trusted my advice, unless you enjoy spending long periods on the phone is to leave and find a firm that supply BROADBAND

I left tiscali in 2007 my equipment repaired itself

post in the Plusnet forum one of the reps will pick it up
