Name all ISPs with unlimited, but NO fair usage..

Please can you tell me which ISP providers have Unlimited downloads but without a fair usage
policy. I was with Bulldog & had this service, but to cut costs I moved to Virgin a week ago. I've hardly downloaded anything in that time. During the llast 3 days I've downloaded about maximum of one hour, that was yesterdaymorning. Other than that all I've done is surf the internet. Tonight we had slow speeds, less than dial up at times so I contacted Virgin & after the tests I was told we had been capped. This is stupid. Please help as I'm leaving Virgin.

Who has unbundled (LLU) your exchange? See http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php

Hopefully you can cancel Virgin without penalty if you are within a cooling off period.

I'd suggest reading last paragraph.

Be/O2 while they have a FUP are known for letting people have lots of freedom.

NOTE: The above only applies to LLU products.

I am very wary of the term unlimited and fair usage after my experience with timewarp .

Any isp may appear not to use the fair usage policy for now, but it does not mean they wont in the future.

I believe whatfs going on is smaller isp's are loosing customers to big players like o2, sky, talk talk, and so on - they arnt making the profits hense cutting costs.

I have chosen to go with fsnuk - it has a set generous dl limit and off peak on peak times clearly spelled out.

But they just implemented a system that if you going to go over the limit you can renew your monthfs payment early and keep going.

Do you mean ukfsn? If not, can you post a link to fsnuk as I can't find it. I think you posted about fsnuk in another thread as well.

Fair Usage policies are misleading as they all act differently. Some have never even been invoked.

I would say you should be focusing on ISP's that have never traffic shaped and have never invoked their FUP in terms of usage restrictions.

SKY would be my first suggestion as they removed their FUP. If nto SKY then O2/be*.

Hi Folks,

one thing to consider here is a simple case of economics, bandwidth (the stuff you burn up when you download) costs ISP's money, the more folks an ISP has on their books the more bandwidth they'll need. Many of the big players achieve a lower priced product by ramming as many customers as possible on a single pipe, anyone using (downloading) a lot of bandwidth will cause trouble for the other folks they're sharing with so the ISP will cap them (or charge for extra over quota bandwidth) and this is becase their margins are so tight you can't squeeze a rizla between them! I had a customer who swore we were limiting him, we don't - but then thankfully we don't have to yet...
