pipex falling apart, is Demon a good successor?

I've had my internet with Pipex for about 4-5 years, and I've never really ever had any problems. However recently, due to the takeover, their website has fallen into disarray and their customer service is severely lacking.

I am looking to porting my internet to another provider, unfortunately in my area of the country (East Kent) I am unable to get internet via 02 or Be Internet, so I was looking at going to Demon Internet.

Right now, I have approximately a 11gb cap (Which I occasionally exceed) and Pipex charge me every time I go over with an extra 3gb additional 'bolt on'.

I noticed that Demon have a Fair Usage Policy that currently allows aroundabout 50gb on their Demon 8000 package, I am a P2P/Torrent user is this capped? and is there any other issues I should be made aware of before I leave Pipex? and is there any other ISPs I should be looking at in the area.

By The way, I am not looking to spend more than �20 a month.

Have a look at the Entanet resellers (e.g. ADSL24, UKFSN, etc.). They generally deliver what they promise.

Have you looked at the Demon forum? Doesn't sound like a happy place and it certainly looks like p2p is throttled especially at peak times.
I know you said �20 a month, but if you could stretch to �21.48 Newnet Home S giving you 20GB usage a month would be worth considering, an excellent service with a 1 month contract and no throttling.
Otherwise as John suggests Entanet resellers are a good bet. O2 Access is above your price limit unless you have an O2 mobile, and I'm still to be convinced that their service is sustainable at the price. Every other ISP that has tried genuinely unlimited for around �20-25 has either gone bust or introduced FUPs or imposed caps eventually. O2 might be different as they are owned by Telefonica and their deep pockets but only time will tell, but do you want to risk a 12 month contract?

Newnet already mentioned is excellent and do not cap or throttle. Expect better than 70% of IP Profile nearly all the time, and evenings and night are actually faster than daytime as the true business users on Newnet close down.

I think the O2 Access product is possibly sustainable but others disagree and sjr is doubtful. If you want more detail on that argument I can find you a few links tomorrow. Bear in mind that �10 a quarter on PAYG mobile, or any monthly contract, brings the price down to �17.13pm, which means adding the mobile back in = �20.46pm and you have the mobile calls available and lots of freebies as well.
