which broadband provider

[link to this post]

i am currently with talk talk but i am due to move house shortly and im also getting increasingly frustrated with talk talk as i keep losing connection.

Therefor i am looking to switch provider i am edging towards BT total broadband due to the fact they provide wireless router with a free phone. But i am extremely attracted by the inclusive wi fi minutes they provide outside home.

I would be grateful for advice as to whether i should go with them or maybe consider another provider. I think i am looking for a reliable service rather than mind blowing speeds have lived with up to 2meg for couple of years and resaonably happy with this.

However please do not confuse me with tecno babble lol . jsut simple info will do.

If the money is a very high priority then it could be OK, but BT apparently apply vicious throttling at peak times, worse than Plusnet's - which is at least publicised by Plusnet.

I suggest if you will be able to get Sky LLU and want/have Sky TV then that's the way to go. Otherwise a standard BT phone line, which can be provided cheaper by firms like the Post Office, and broadband separate from the phone supplier. Very few phone/broadband bundles are advisable.

Put the new house exchange or post code into samknows and post back the link to the result, then we can advise better.

Just for starters, some comparisons, and a different one.

Well that is easy then You are in luck. So long as you are close enough to the exchange.

The best choice is a standard BT line as before. I preferred to stay with BT myself, with free evening and weekend calls all at 10.27pm, but as I said you can get a "BT" line installed and rented for a few pence less.

Then it is O2 if you are in their "area", with Sky to consider if you have or want Sky TV.

If you are too far away from the exchange to get O2 "in area" then still consider O2 Access. (This link also gives you more detail on all the packages).

If you can only get O2 Access from the above and feel it is a bit costly, then you could look at IDNet, Zen, Newnet and ADSL24, (an Entanet reseller), all priced according to your download quantity (and some count the upload as well) and have monthly contracts rather that 12-month.

BT give you a good bundle but are no good if you want to hoist the jolly roger as p2p is heavily throttled.

I would not recommend an Entanet referrer as the products are on notice and nobody knows what is going to happen to them next month.

Just don't go with Demon internet, Pipex, Eclipse, Tiscali unless you want poor speeds with pitiful insulting customer service.

ISP's that love traffic shaping UKOnline(ipstream), Tiscali, Pipex, Eclipse Internet, from personal experience best avoided!

Given you've put this exact post in each of the above threads, I think we get the point....

there were slight variants as i did also mention that BT is using DPI (deep packet inspection) in the form of Phorm, to spy on all your http requests, like your usernames, passwords, email contents, instant messenger chat ect, which is also going to be used by the car phone warehouse and virgin.

so it may also be advisable to bypass these ISP's also!

sometimes the smaller ISP's are good, am with one that regard themselves primarily as a business ISP, not the cheapest for sure, but generally reliable with excellent tech support

Rubbish. Making things up about Phorm simply discredits your argument.
