Time to leave Entanet

I am with Freeola 8Mb Max / 30GB peak usage/ 270GB offpeak £24.46 /m. but speed sucks right now.
Main priority is a stable connection for playing poker online (Why I jumped ship from Virgin)
Would prefer to do my downloading during peak hours but 30GB can vanish real fast.
My usage very swingy 13GB total one month to 9Gb + 50GB (on + offpeak) already this month
Which would be best option (Demon /IDNet,/Zen/ Newnet/O2 / Be etc)

Personally I'd be looking at Sky LLU (if you have/want Sky TV) and Be/O2 LLU.

I would second that, though looking at that speed test you might be refused by the web based sign-up procedure.

If that test was done during peak time, when Enta tends to move relatively quickly still, than it indicates you have a very long or otherwise bad line. If you could find and post your current router stats that would help someone here tell you more.

With those excellent stats go for Be Unlimited. You should get possibly 20Mbps sync and 18Mbps actual download. You would have a faster upload speed if you went for Pro but I doubt if you need that, and it lowers your download speed. Anyway it only takes a phone call to upgrade.

In your control panel you can select a gaming mode which removes the standard interleaving, though a phone call also removes some other error-checking. That's if latency bothers you for other gaming.

You can also lower your target margin to 3dB through the control panel if your line is stable enough.

A tip - look for a recent post by MKD in the Be forum and follow the tinyurl link in his sig to his comaprison of O2 and Be. I think you need Be not O2, but make your own mind up. O2 is mass-market, Be is more techie in my opinion. The doc gives you a number of tips on cash-back and offers though!

With stats like that you should get a very nice connection with Be (or any other copper-wire based ISP that happens to be available at your exchange for that matter).

Thanks for the advice. Got my MAC code and tried to sign up to BeUnlimited online via quidco but kept getting "technical error ring 08091013430". Was not very impressed with the resulting call centre experience.

I have seen IDnet recommended here a lot and was wondering if I could keep my downloading to 30Gb a month would it be worth trying them?

I was with IDNet until I moved to ADSL 24 a year ago. My experience with them is that they are very very very good.

The only reason I moved away from them was the bigger download allowance and cheaper price of Enta.

My brother is still with IDNet so I know they are still as good as ever. You don't get any slow downs ever. There customer service is brilliant. They charge more than your average ISP but then they provide a much much better service than your average ISP.

If you can stick to the 30GB allowance then you won't regret moving to IDNet, also don't forget your uploads aren't counted with IDNet, so the 30GB allowance isn't as low as you think especially if you're a Bit torrent user.

If you can justify £34.99 then you can go on their Home Supermax product, which gives you 60GB in total 30GB between 9am and midnight and 30GB between midnight and 9am. You also get a 832 Kbps upload on the supermax product, plus 3GB of webspace with unlimited traffic.

Just got my MAC from ADSL24, and considering both IDNet and ZeN... I have been with ZeN before and loved them, but I am thinking IDNet are going to offer better value for money. I can not find anything really bad said above both companies so its a hard choice.

Going to sleep on it and then make my move tomorrow night I think, gives me some time to just be sure before I start the process of moving going.
