Does anyone know anything about this company, they have rang me and i've asked some questions about them but i still need more info, apparently their broadband isn't like BT or LLU and it doesn't matter where you live to what speeds you can get, they say if you can get 8Mb then you will get it no matter how far you are from the exchange as they dont use it, how true is this and any other info welcome, this is their link to the website.

Well it seems to want a phone line as the rental is £11.50. So not cable.
Judging by the "Certified Partner" Cable & Wireless at the bottom it could be their LLU. So maybe what the guy told you was not exactly correct?

Googling their contact number (0871 664 1500) brings up PlayTV UK... not sure if that's any help?

It wouldn't be the first time a sales rep oversells themselves and their service. Sounds like he was chatting bubbles, if you ask me.

Time to ask them exactly what technology it is delivered over e.g. wireless, telephone line satellite or cable
Their site is woefully lacking in detail, they look more to be a Freeview PVR with VoD capability rather than broadband provider

I did ask what the broadband service was delivered by and he said they use a thing called a (Mesh) not sure what that is but i asked him if it matters where you live depending on what speed you get like with BT and he said no cause they use a (Mesh) and have hot spots all over the place.

Mesh - wireless then, ask them what frequency they use, if 2.4GHz then things may be congested if lots of access points locally.
If 5.8GHz then they've thought about this.
If the contract was shorter then fine, but they say you can only cancel with 7 days of ordering then its 12 month contract, where that stands with regards to distance selling regulations I am not sure.

I take it you know who Satellite Direct are?
They ring you up and say your sky warranty has run out and do you want to buy a new one.

latest news is that Satellite Direct has gone out of business, companies house shows them as being in liquidation. Really would avoid any of these companies i think
